The iconic Lexington Market officially opened its new facility January 2023. I visited on a busy Saturday afternoon and this modern facility seemed to capture the same joy as the original building just yards away. It’s a beautiful facility housing a number of previous vendors from the original building combined with some new vendors.

The facility's colorful lighting and signage match the vibrancy of the people who have sustained Lexington Market for generations. At the former location, I would see the familiar faces at the vending stalls but never knew the names of many of the businesses. The improved signage eliminates that from happening again.

This is an overdue fresh start for a Baltimore icon. In due time it will build its own unique vibe that will be a mix of good food, conversation and culture.
